as long as you sanitize the counters when you're done, I say feel free to show your love in the kitchen

On my way into work today,,,,,
by Jomavrick ini was listening to some southern radio preacher giving his sermon.
he was talking about the need to sell out to god and not just say that you love god but prove it.
he then said something that made me laugh - he said " a wife doesn't prove that she loves her husband in the parlor, she proves her love for him in the kitchen".. now i find that hilarious for a couple reasons, what do you ladie's and gents think??

Heartwarming JW Facebook Comment
by exwhyzee inthis urban legend/anecdote was on the facebook page of a jw who is a facebook friend of mine.
it's kind of long but tell us what you think....it was all i could do to stop myself from making a snarky comment.
a young couple very much wanted to have a family, but his wife could not conceive, so they decided to adopt a baby.

New Magazine says birthdays will kill you
by RayPublisher innew july 2013 awake says this on page 3:.
"there is a 14 percent greater probability that a person over 60 years of age will die on his birthday rather than on other days.".
wow, they have now proven that birthdays are pagan and not fit for christians!.

My grandma died on my birthday in 2006, and my aunt died on my birthday in 2007. Neither of them were dubs though.

I read them both long before I became a dub. Amazing how a person can shut down his thinking ability. I read 1984 again after I left the borg, and it really struck me how well it fit.

WTF just happened??? An elder I haven't seen in years stopped by to hand me a XXXXXXXX !!!
by Calebs Airplane inso yesterday afternoon, an elder who lives only 3 blocks away drives up to my house as i was about to enter my car.
as he gets out of his car, i noticed he had a stack of photocopied paper in his hand and he seemed quite nervous.
i was genuinely happy to see him nonetheless since he is pretty easygoing and very likeable.

what little I have read about this case is truly horrifying. There is no excuse for his actions.

Trying to establish the demographic trends of congregations. Wanting counters please. Big brother needs you.
by joe134cd ini'm just curious?
since i have become aware that witnesses are getting older and that the youth is leaving (well in western lands anyway), i have started doing counts by age group of the people sitting in the hall.
generally in the hall that i attend i have found that 2/3 are 40 and over while 1/3 is 40 and under.

The hall I used to attend had roughly 45 in attendance at meetings. The age groups seemed to be pretty evenly split, with the noteable exception of absolutely no one between the ages of 18 and 30. It seems that the minute the kids get old enough to move away, they are gone.
